History

The Simpsons-O-Rama opened January 3rd 2001, but the counter is there since March 11 2001. This site is all about "The Simpsons", and my goal is to bring you as much multimedia (such as sounds, pics, other images and so on) as you can handle.

Designs

The Simpsons-O-Rama have had a few designs over the months and years... Here they are.

First design - first ever design. Based on a layout from freewebtemplates.com.
Second design - same design, but improved. Added the DHTML menu, moved the buddy list up, added some colour
Third design - completely new design, but was never used.
Fourth design - same basic layout as number 1 and 2, but with a better header and no more DHTML menu.
Sixth design - again, same basic layout but with a pattern and a different header. Was never used.
Seventh design - time for a change. Was getting tired of the old layout... Completely new design.
Eight design - same thing, except for the update boxes.

FAQ

Q: What programs did you use to build this web site?

A: Well, I use a combination of programs. For graphics and design purposes, I use Adobe Photoshop. To build the HTML/PHP pages, I use HTML-Kit, an excellent freeware program. I also use FireFTP (to upload my files on my server), Total Recorder and DBPower Amp Music Converter. For my framegrabs, I used WinTv 2000 (with TV card) and Screenprint and Virtual Dub. For my images of places and things, I used Windows Media Player and the "Save Image" function. Most of this software can be used as shareware or even freeware! Check out CNET www.download.com for many of these programs.

Q: Can you link to my website?

A: Absolutely, but I would appreciate if you could link back. If you would like to be listed in the links section, email me with your site's URL, and I'll check it out. If you would like to do a button exchange, email me with your site's URL, and I'll put it on my homepage if I can.

Q: Can I link to SOR on my website?

A: Of course! Go ahead and make a text link or use one of my support buttons. If you have made a cool 88X31 size button for The Simpsons-O-Rama, please email it to me, and I'll put it in the "Support" section and give you credit for it. I would appreciate if you could only link to the main page, unless we talk it over :)

Q: Can you design my website?

A: Probably not, but I'm willing to help you figure it out.

Q: I made some Simpsons content, can you put it on Simpsons-O-Rama?

A: Yes! Everything (Simpson-related) is welcome. I'll be more than happy to put it on my website, and of course, I'll give you credit.

Q: Can I be a co-webmaster at Simpsons-O-Rama?

A: I am the only webmaster here, and it is likely to remain so, since I don't want to give the FTP/server login information to anyone else. However, if you want to contribute to this website by making some content, you can still do so, I'll add it myself and give you full credit.

Q: Do you want to be a co-webmaster at my site?

A: No. I'm busy enough as it is with this website and my life, I don't have time to start working on other websites.

Q: Where did you learn HTML?

A: I learned everything I know from this website (Lissa Explains) and from Web Design Insights, which seems to be dead now.
